CASA ÂNCORA is a project which remodels a 1990s built detached villa located in the Algarve, Southern Portugal. The concept specified the use of grey floors and natural raw concrete together with white painted walls. The use of the same material interior and exterior creates a feeling of fluidity and elegance which add to the sense of light and space. The spaces are connected by oversized timber white lacquered sliding doors allowing openness for the spaces but also gives comfort when closed to the individual spaces, such as the living room. The use of solid timber with natural finishing contrasts with grey and white surfaces. The grey concept was developed by Ultramarino for the whole project, including the kitchen and bathroom furniture. The garden was landscaped and features a variety of established palm and olive trees.
